  • Microwave cooking can have a negative effect on the body.  It changes the nutrients in the food and can have a negative impact on your body's blood composition.  Studies show changes in white blood cells, hemoglobin, and cholesterol levels. Click here for more information.  Avoid microwave cooking.  Another alternative to microwave cooking is an Aroma Oven.  It's not as fast as a microwave, but quicker than conventional oven keeping the food safe for consumption.  
  • Wear a Q-link pendant.   • Light bulbs in your house can be exchanged for full spectrum lights, which are healthier for you.  Like the name says, they’re a full spectrum natural light, like sunlight, which promote healthy levels of vitamin D.  This vitamin is essential not only for bone health, but for reducing the risk of developing disorders such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity, and autoimmune disease.   • Non Stick Pans such as Teflon releases potentially harmful chemicals including aluminum, all toxic to the body. Use stainless steel pans.

  • Sun tan lotions are made from toxic chemicals that can absorb into your system.  It is better to use natural sun tan lotions.  Interestingly enough, moderate sun exposure actually prevents cancers, including skin cancers, because of the natural vitamin D produced in your body from sunlight.
  • Virtually all cleaning products have toxic products that are not meant for human exposure.  There are natural cleaning products at Trader Joes.  Tea tree oil is a natural product, when mixed with water, can be used to clean tables and counter tops etc.

C.)   Dietary Guidelines
  • Organic Fruits and Vegetables are a must.  If they’re not organic that means they were grown with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and perhaps in depleted soil (no vitamin or minerals).  Organic means they’re grown from the earth with no chemicals or tainted fertilizers.  Read your labels.  Eat God made foods, foods from the earth, and limit Man made food.  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers 60 percent of herbicides, 90 percent of fungicides and 30 percent of insecticides to be carcinogenic.
  • Inflammation is the cause of disease and creates conditions like asthma, allergies, pain, etc. Gastric Reflux, Indigestion, etc. are signs of inflammation affecting the intestinal tract. Anti-Inflammatory Eating

  • I would NOT recommend bio-engineered fruits or vegetables (i.e. those peeled mini-carrots).  
  • Buy meats that are organic, free range and/or grass fed.  Animals that feed on grain that is grown with chemical fertilizers made of nitrates are toxic for human consumption.  Also, make sure they are free of hormones and antibiotics.  Did you know most of the antibiotics purchased in United States are not for human use, but for the animals we consume?   What they eat, you eat.

  • How good is store-bought milk?  Cows eat grains, which are toxic because of the pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides added to producing the grains.  Cows are also given Growth Hormones, Antibiotics, GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) Feed, and the milk is Pasteurized (pasteurization kills the enzymes, vitamins and minerals in the milk).  All this will inevitably end up in your system.  Remember, if the cow eats it, you eat it.  A healthier alternative is to drink rice milk, almond milk or www.rawmilk.com, which is raw milk coming from cows that are grass fed, and not given any of the toxic substances listed above.   • Raw nuts such as almonds, Brazilian nuts or walnuts (no extra ingredients) are all healthy for you.
  • Stay away from breakfast cereals.  They contain trans-fats and grains.  Trans-fats are heated oils, such as vegetable oil, that lose their chemical structure and become bad for your cardiovascular system (precursor for Heart Disease).  The grains in breakfast cereals (carbohydrates) are broken down in your system and cause a spike in insulin levels (precursor for Diabetes).  Excessive insulin ages you as well.
  • Any food that was available before the year 1903 is good.  This is because 1903 was the year hydrogenation of oil started.
  • Eat plenty of antioxidant rich foods like blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc. Antioxidants helps to reduce the aging effects on your body.
  • Drink 8 glasses of water per day.  Reverse osmosis and bottled water are best.  Filtered water is a third option.  Avoid tap water. It contains chemicals life chlorine and fluoride.  Even adding a filter to the shower is recommended to reduce and eliminate breathing in chlorine while showering.

D.)  Supplements
   

a.)    Omega 3 Fish Oil/Flax Seed – We need this because our body does not make it.  It’s difficult to get from a food source, so it’s necessary to supplement.  Fish is the best source, but our society is unconcerned with the burning of coal/petroleum that our oceans are full of mercury.  As a result, virtually all fish are contaminated with mercury.

b.)    Enzymes – After cooking foods to 118º F, the foods enzymes are worthless.  Enzymes help break down food for easy absorption.

c.)    Probiotic –  (i.e. acidophilus) This is a good bacterium that lines the  gut.  It ensures that the bad bacteria don't rule and you become sick.  Toxicity, antibiotics and alcohol are a few things that destroy this.

d.)    Multiple Vitamin – Ensures that the cells of your body get all the nourishment they need.

e.)    Antioxidant – Oxygen, too much sun, too much exercise and bad foods causes free radicals, which age us.  This prevents free radical damage.

The list above may look overwhelming to some, challenging to others and perhaps even crazy or "out there" to a few. The key is to be consistent and  don't overwhelm yourself by making too many changes from day one.  Remember it's a process, not a destination - that way we can enjoy life along the way.

I’ve become fascinated with longevity, in part, since my own grandmother turned 102 years of age in January, 2008.  I recently talked to her and asked her how she does it.  Here’s a women who lives in her own apartment, prepares her own meals, washes her own dishes and does all the other things you and I do, except at age 100.  In addition to this, she still laughs and enjoys life.  At age 95, she liked the idea of living with others her age and tried to live in an assisted living nursing home.  She said it was too depressing being around “all those old people”.  So she moved out a year later and hasn’t looked back.  For her insight on how she approaches life, including her diet and mental approach Click here. 

It’s one thing to live a life that’s vibrant, healthy and full of life.  It’s another being kept alive by modern medicine or living a life of suffering.  To be healthy takes a conscious effort and can be work, but it can dramatically change your life!

  
If you look at history, Paleolithic times where pre-agriculture and pre-industrialized time.  These were the hunter-gatherers.  There were a couple of these cultures that existed in remote parts of the world up until 20 years ago.  These cultures were studies and thoroughly documented. 

These people didn’t die from heart disease, strokes, cancer, and autoimmune diseases (diabetes, M.S., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s).  In fact these diseases didn’t exist.  What sets Paleolithic times apart from our modern culture’s disease infested society is they lived naturally.  They lived from the land that didn’t have pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.  They didn’t use growth, hormones, antibiotics, and grains (with pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides) to feed the animals they ate.  They didn’t inject children with poisonous substances (vaccinations).  They didn’t have the stress of our society.  

Scientific evidence points out that genetics plays little or no role in the diseases people are dying from today.  The factors that determine your health are LIFESTYLE CHOICES.  The only genetic factors are will power and education on healthy choices.  All diseases happen at the cell level because of Toxicity or Deficiencies based on our current and present lifestyle choices.  You control your destiny.

According to Dr. Geerd Hamer’s German New Medicine, the signs and symptoms that conventional medicine views as “disease,” are in fact signs of a HEALING CRISIS; once it’s over, you’re well on your way to be fully cured and good as new. Unfortunately, conventional medicine views this healing cycle as something to be eradicated, and put you on invasive treatments, which either delays or stops your natural healing altogether.

  
Physiologically we’re are designed to live up to 120 years.  This is according to a Harvard Medical Study and the Bible - Genesis 6:2.  Other studies point out that we’re designed to be healthy from 80 years of age well into the 100’s. 

So, why is the average American’s body breaking down so early?  Today in the United States, only 1 out of 1000 adults who make it to the age of 60 are in good health.  Good health in terms of not taking any medication and able to go for a run or do any activity without restrictions, if desired.  

  
Why is America’s health status so poor?  The U.S. is ranked 37th by the World Health Organization, when the brightest and best doctors in the world are using the best technology?  Could it be that our current medical system does nothing for our health and vitality?  That our current medical model is designed for sick and crises care, not health care?  After all when you present your insurance card, what is it that it's going to cover?  Problems that already exist.  Our health care system is not set up to prevent illness or disease. It's the way the system is set up.

The health in this country will change for the better when you and I can present our insurance card and it pays for everything needed to preserve our health.  There's actually billions of dollars made off the system the way it is, so why change a system that works for the financial gains of our pharmaceuticals and insurance companies? 

The pharmaceutical industry and insurance companies control our current health care system.  The bottom line is that we have to individually take a proactive stance on our own health and vitality.  We live with a system that isn't working and the amount of people who are sick and suffering is growing at alarming rates. 

We're told to take drugs, which are making other parts of our body sicker and more toxic.  Harmony, order, balance and vitality does not come from medications. It comes from within, from a body that is free from toxicities and deficiencies.  In general, we’re born to be healthy.  It’s what our natural state is suppose to be.  The body will heal under the most trying of circumstances.  You can progress in a state of health, or in a state of deficiencies and/ or toxicities resulting in sickness and disease.
